Bridges & Trestles

A camel back bridge and trestle.

A Stone Bridge

A bridge and trestle combination that sort of replaced the stone bridge.  The stone bridge was not holding up well at all.  So, when I expanded my layout, I decided not to use it any more.  I needed elevated track to avoid a steep grade, so I built ten feet of trestle and used a Garden Metal Models bridge to connect the two sections.

This is a Howe truss bridge that I scratchbuilt from plans from Garden Textures.  I also bought the threaded rods and wood from him.

A curved trestle that will be installed to support the Howe truss bridge.

Here they are in place.

A 46” Garden Metal Models bridge, curved trestle, Howe truss bridge and another 46” steel bridge.  It just clears the oak tree!
