Cutting Openings

Factory Plans   Building Windows     Foundation   Siding   Factory   Final

I first drill a couple of holes in opposite corners - just big enough to fit my saw blade.

You can see my openings aren't square when complete (the door part has been cut out).

It's hard to tell, but part of the window has been cut out in this shot.

I don’t worry about getting the openings perfectly square, as the windows and siding will cover up some errors.

Here’s what the windows and doors will look like when fitted into the openings.

Of course, there is still the siding to apply, and the windows must be painted and glazed.

I have pretty much decided to not put in a detailed interior.  I could open the doors and light the building, but it is usually too hard to see much detail.  I’ll probably fog the windows a bit, so you can’t see the interior at all.
