Stone Mill   Building Walls   Sluice   Placing   Completed

I made a cupola from styrene pieces. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, but I sure like the way it turned out.

It will be painted the same color as the windows and other trim - which will be a primer red.

I poured some concrete steps as well as the waterway, but haven’t yet attached them to the building in this picture. The beam at the top isn’t final yet either, which is why it’s crooked.

I’ll be sealing the walls which will hopefully bring out the color of the stones a lot more.

To build the windows, I built a 6-pane jig out of wood. I used styrene strips to build up each window.  I only needed 22 of these assemblies!

To the right, you can see the assembled window.  I basically built up a frame to hold the window halves.

I’ll insert this into each opening and trim around it.

I’ve inserted the windows just to see how they look.

While I was initially planning to paint them red, I now think I like the white better!

The windows have been painted and glazed.  I’ve glued both the doors and the windows in position, but I have to trim them out a bit.   I’ll probably finish with some caulk as well.

I’ve also started on the shingles: one at a time!  It does take awhile but it looks impressive.

Looking a bit more finished here.

I’ve balanced the wheel and finished all the shingles. The pulley is mounted to the beam.

The only thing left to do is glue the roof down and trim it out.

Then, it’s off to the sluice!

And, sometime, I have to figure out how to make the water flow and how to place it outside.
