The tank is formed from thin plywood wrapped around wooden forms, as is the dome.

  The dome cap is a casting.

Plastic end caps are used at each end.

It’s a very interesting model to build up.

Before painting, it’s necessary to seal and sand the wrapper.  I put on about three coats of sealer.

It’s almost a shame to cover up the detail with a coat of primer.

I painted it using Krylon spray paint.  

Dry transfer provide the yellow and silver lettering.

The wheels are Aristo-Delton freight trucks, with Sierra Valley steel wheels.
