Siding

Factory Plans     Cutting Openings     Building Windows     Foundation   Factory   Final

All of the siding has been glued to the walls.

All of the openings have been cut and each window and door has been test fitted.

The roof panels have been cut and nailed and glued to the building.

Here’s a look with the first coat of siding.

It’s still a bit splotchy, but I knocked the paint bottle on the floor where it promptly shattered, creating quite a mess and making it impossible to do any more work until I get a new bottle.

The new bottle of paint wouldn't spray worth beans, so it’s a bit of a color change: salmon buff.

Jean asks “Why three different types of roofs?” “Why not?”, I reply. Well, I wanted to try out the metal roof I had picked up at the East Coast Large Scale Train Show, and I had some other roof types I wanted, so there you go.

At least everything is glued down. I still have to paint some of the trim around the roof. I should have waited to paint the siding until I had put on the roof!

That's the problem with scratch-building - there are no instructions! I probably wouldn't follow them anyway.
