Mowing the grass is no fun - and even worse if you have to carry the lawnmower over the bridge!
With that in mind, we decided to replace the grass with a stone path made of irregular flagstone.
This is the “before” image.
After a day of digging, we have a bit less grass. And fewer roots.
Delivery time! A ton and a half of Heather Gray thin stone.....
I also got a ton of stone dust - it really sticks together!
My friends with pickups were very happy to hear that I was going to have this delivered...
Now the real work begins...
The hardest part is getting rid of all the roots. Some of them are over four inches thick!
Here I’ve just put down a few hundred pounds of the stone dust.
I’ve loosely laid the stone to get a feel for how it will look.
Wow. This is a lot harder than it looks! Stones set and leveled. This would be a lot easier if they were the same thickness, or even just smooth on the bottom!
