It’s very interesting to work with acrylic!

First, it’s clear.   This picture shows the end, siding and floor all glued together.  It’s hard to see all of them!

Second, it’s very quick.   I’m going to let this bond for a day before I add the other pieces, but it’s already strong.

Third, since the sheets were pre-cut, everything is square - probably a first for any of my buildings!

All in all, very enjoyable.

I needed some big freight doors for my side walls.   I had some scribed siding left over from my boxcars, so I cut some pieces on an angle to use for the inside of each door.

Next I cut three small pieces of plastic strip for the horizontal pieces and glued the scribed siding between them.

Finally, some longer strips served as the vertical pieces.

The walls are built using Precision Products New Brick sheets.   They’re about 15” square, so I need three sheets to cover a side.

I covered some plastic strips with the brick material to act as pillars and also make so I didn’t need to make even seems between the sheets.

Window openings were cut and a small arc was glued above each opening.   Next, I curved some vertical brick strips around each arc.

The painted windows were then glued in place.

I also added a short section of concrete blocks to act as the foundation.

As I continue to add siding and windows, the building starts to become visible.

I run out of glue, so it’s time to tackle another phase while I wait for my order to arrive.

The front doors are made from .060 x .250 styrene strip and some scribed siding I had left over from my boxcar project.

I spray painted the parts before attaching it.   Later, I’ll be adding the brick color.

I used brass escutcheon pins for the door knobs.
