April 5. It's not real clear as we set out to drive to Oregon.
Our first night stay is a pleasant B&B with a great view.
April 5. A jay we had not seen before.
April 6. Plus a new hummingbird.
It's a beautiful morning as we walk around before breakfast.
It's empty down on the beach.
Of course we've seen squirrels before...
April 6. Lots of sea lions.
We finally get to Port Orford, and meet the master himself - Richard Smith
A nice project on the workbench.
The round house at night.
Most of the buildings have some sort of lights.
April 7. The next day we got to operate a bit.
Helen's hobby is Genealogy. While Richard and I operated on his railroad, Jean and Helen had a great time researching Jean's family.
The sun did come out for a bit, so I was able to get some neat shots as I was working through Richard's switching challenge. I tried to get him to pay me by the move - I would have been rich. The sun also helped dry us out after the first part of the session just drenched us.
Yet another fine dining establishment.
Of course we had to visit Cape Blanco, the inspiration for Richard's RR logo. Naturally, it's open EVERY day of the week, except for Monday, the day we visited, so we couldn't get very close. Still, it was a pretty view.
On the way back, we stayed at another B&B that has a neat little gazebo.
