I sort of like flatcars, except the "loads" are exposed and mine are always empty as I don't have any modeled loads at all.

When you operate, it really doesn't matter that much, but it IS much easier to imagine that a box car is fully loaded...

So, I only have ONE flatcar anymore - #300.   Build from a Phil Dippel KIT.

Oddly enough, my very FIRST scratchbuild was a flatcar made from styrene.   It has been converted to an Odometer car that measures distance traveled using a bicycle odometer/speedometer.   The default wheelsize is 26" - which is exactly the scale size of my wheels.
